Dr. Matt at Atlas Physical Therapy is extremely knowledgeable, personable and truly cares about his client’s health and overall wellbeing. I had never tried physical therapy before but after consistent neck pain for many years, I thought I’d give a try and it truly does help!! On top of everything, he also showed me stretches to do at home to alleviate my pain in between sessions. Dr.Matt is a must try!

Matt’s 1 on 1 approach to recovery is by far the best experience I’ve had in 3 surgeries since my accident 4 years ago. I knew Matt from my regular physical therapy office where he used to work, and I was disappointed he wasn’t there after my most recent surgery. After 3 months doing regular physical therapy at my local office, my recovery wasn’t anywhere near what I felt it should be so I reached out to Matt. After 5 sessions with him I feel like I’ve made at least double the progress I did in 3 months going 3x a week doing traditional therapy. I look forward to continuing my recovery with Matt and would recommend him to all my family and friends.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions from Cold Spring Harbor-area patients.

How far is Atlas Physical Therapy from Cold Spring Harbor?

Atlas Physical Therapy is located at 630 New York Ave in Huntington, NY — a short drive from Cold Spring Harbor. The clinic sits inside Kinetic Coaching gym, just outside Huntington Village, and is easy to reach from Route 25A and surrounding roads.

Do I need a physician's referral to book?

No referral needed. New York allows direct access to physical therapy, so you can schedule and begin care on your own. If your treatment plan requires more than 10 visits or extends past 30 days, a prescription will be required under NY state law.

Do you work with golfers?

Yes. Our team includes a TPI-certified provider who screens golfers for the physical limitations that affect swing mechanics and cause pain. Whether you're dealing with back or hip pain during a round, or just want to hit farther and swing with more consistency, we have a program for you.

Do you accept insurance?

Atlas Physical Therapy is cash-based and out-of-network. We accept cash, credit and debit cards, Amex, and HSA/FSA. Superbills are available for patients who want to seek reimbursement through their out-of-network benefits — we do not bill insurance directly.

What should I expect at my first visit?

Your first session includes a full movement evaluation, hands-on treatment, and a clear plan you leave with. Our team identifies the root cause of what's been holding you back and gives you a roadmap to address it. Most patients leave their first visit with more clarity than they've had from any prior provider.
