Golf Physical Therapy in Huntington, NY
Hit Farther. Play Without Pain.
Most golfers assume swing problems are a coaching issue. A TPI-certified physical therapist looks at a different layer — the physical restrictions that prevent your body from executing the swing mechanics your coach is teaching.

Pain During a Round — or a Swing That's Lost Its Power — Isn't Just Bad Luck
Low Back Pain Is Ruining Your Game
Back pain during or after a round is one of the most common golf complaints — and one of the most preventable. Without addressing the physical cause, it compounds with every round you play.
You're Losing Distance with No Clear Reason
Distance loss often comes from mobility restrictions or stability gaps in the hips, thoracic spine, or shoulders — not from swing mechanics alone. A physical assessment can show you exactly what's limiting your power.
Compensations Are Quietly Making Things Worse
When your body can't move the way a proper swing requires, it compensates. Those compensations become habit — and over time, they increase injury risk and cap your improvement.
The TPI Difference: Physical + Performance Together
This isn't a generic golf stretching protocol. Every program is individualized based on your screen findings — targeting the specific mobility, stability, and strength deficits that show up in your movement assessment.

Frequently Asked Questions
Questions about the TPI screen or golf PT at Atlas? Here's what we hear most.
Do I need to be injured to use this service?
No. The TPI movement screen and golf fitness programming is available to any golfer — injured or not. Many players come in specifically to improve performance: add distance, build consistency, or understand what's physically limiting their game.
How is this different from seeing a swing coach?
A swing coach works on mechanics. A TPI-certified physical therapist identifies whether a physical restriction is preventing your body from executing those mechanics. The two approaches complement each other — Atlas PT handles the physical side.
What does a TPI movement screen involve?
The TPI screen evaluates hip mobility, thoracic spine rotation, core stability, shoulder mobility, balance, and power generation patterns. Findings are mapped directly to your swing to identify what's limiting your movement and performance.
Do you accept insurance?
Atlas PT is a cash-based, out-of-network clinic. We accept cash, credit and debit cards, American Express, and HSA/FSA. We provide superbills for possible reimbursement through your out-of-network benefits.
Do I need a referral?
No referral is required. New York is a direct access state — you can book directly. If your care requires more than 10 visits or extends beyond 30 days, a prescription will be needed per NY state law.
