Is personal training the same as physical therapy?

No — PT addresses pain and rehabilitation. Personal training at Atlas PT is performance and strength focused. The difference is that your programming is designed by a DPT who applies a physical therapy lens to every plan, which means your history, movement, and goals all factor in.

Do I need to have finished PT before starting personal training?

Not necessarily. Some clients start personal training after completing PT as a next step. Others come directly for training with an injury history they want accounted for. If there's an active pain issue, we'll address that first before shifting into training mode.

Is remote programming available?

Yes. Remote programming is available for clients outside of Huntington or with schedule constraints that make in-person sessions difficult. You receive the same PT-informed approach as a structured, progressive online program.

Where do in-person sessions take place?

In-person personal training sessions are held inside Kinetic Coaching gym at 630 New York Ave, Huntington, NY — a fully equipped training facility where you work one-on-one with your coach throughout every session.

How is this different from hiring a regular personal trainer?

Your coach is a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy. That means programming is designed with a clinical understanding of how movement quality, injury history, and training load interact — something a standard personal trainer isn't trained to evaluate.
