Do I need a referral to start physical therapy?

No referral is required to book at Atlas PT — New York is a direct access state. You can schedule your evaluation directly. If your care requires more than 10 visits or extends beyond 30 days, a prescription will be needed per NY state law.

Do you accept insurance?

Atlas PT is a cash-based, out-of-network clinic. We accept cash, credit and debit cards, American Express, and HSA/FSA payments. We provide superbills so you can submit for possible reimbursement through your out-of-network benefits.

Will I have to stop training during PT?

Our goal is always to keep you moving. We work with you to modify your training where needed — not to shut it down entirely. Most patients continue training throughout their plan with adjustments that protect recovery and progress.

What happens at the first session?
